Research

Deon Heffington is an associate professor at the Autonomous University of the State of Quintana Roo (UQROO). Her educational background is related to English Language Teaching, Education, and Curriculum and Instruction, with a specialization in ESOL and Bilingual Education. She’s a member of the National Research System in Mexico (SNI) and of the State Research System (SEI) in Quintana Roo. Her scholarship is framed as ‘educational research in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)’ and ‘effective teaching practices in TESOL’. She has participated in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods research projects across disciplines, and universities.
